The main instructors Joni Canterbury of Colorado’s Small Business Assistace Program (far left) and Lynette Myers of Colorado’s Environmental Leadership Program (far right), with the aid of Kathy Lauerman, developed and delivered the program. Holding their Certificates of Completion are, left to right beginning with the back row: Dan O’Dean/Sprint Denver, Dan Linn/BC Printing and Bruce Immele/Leanin’ Tree. Front row left to right: Jon VanderWal/Henry Wurst, David Crandall/eagle:xm, Peter Carranza/Vision Graphics, Renee Eischens/Unique Litho, Charlotte Kulcsar/L&M Pressworks, and Ken Zetye/Egan Printing Company.

The intense four part series that began in February of this year combined all of the elements of a formal Sustainable Management System (SMS) aka Environmental Management System (EMS) directed specifically to the printing industry, and ended in assisting participants in learning how to apply for Silver or Gold status in the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program. Attendees walked away with formal instructions & spreadsheets and information on every aspect of an SMS and commented that overall it was a simpler way to be on top of an extremely complicated process.
